Chronic Pain Solutions
The Body Freedom Approach
Helping people find solutions to chronic pain, and back to an active life.
Chronic pain affects people across the world, in all walks of life. In a survey collected by NHS Digital Health, 1 in 3 UK adults reported having some type of chronic pain. According to the CDC, around 50 million US adults have chronic pain, and it’s one of the most common reasons adults seek medical care. By 2023 the painkiller market in the US will have reached $5.9 billion. It’s clear that chronic pain is a widespread problem.
So why are we not solving the problem of chronic pain?
Does this sound like you?
You have chronic pain
You don’t know what to do
You’ve tried everything and it’s not working
There is another way…
The Body Freedom Approach
Focus on treating the root cause of the pain and many equivalent health issues by looking at your mental/emotional experiences and how they affect your brain and nervous system and contribute to chronic pain.
“I had been suffering with a knotted neck and stiff shoulder for over 3 months. I had been using various pain reliefs and gels to no avail. Now I have much more movement in my shoulder and the tension in my neck has subsided. I feel better than I have in a long time!” - Claire L.

How Does it Work?
The Body Freedom Approach uses techniques developed by Dr. John E. Sarno to help you learn to manage and reduce chronic pain by addressing the underlying emotional stress and tension. For over 40 years Dr. Sarno, brought an alternative approach to healing chronic pain. Through his work, he made the connection that many patients suffering from chronic pain, were due to emotions that they have repressed, and not of a physical nature. Sarno came up with the name for these chronic pain symptoms, Tension Myoneural Syndrome.

Coach Samantha J Murphy
Hi I’m Samantha, and I’m, a certified coach and TMS/Mindbody practitioner specializing in chronic pain recovery. I entered this field after my own struggles with chronic pain. I’ve worked as a massage therapist and body worker for many years and I’ve treated many people suffering from chronic pain issues. Although massage and bodywork can be really helpful, I saw that for some people the pain would still just keep coming back. After learning about Tension Myoneural Syndrome and the work of Dr. John Sarno, I sought the help of a TMS practitioner who helped me change my own chronic pain to a point where it has now gone away, and if it does flair up from time to time it is gone in a day with the help of TMS symptom tools. It all made sense to me and so much so, that I became a TMS practitioner myself so I could help others in the same way that I was helped.
“I was suffering from chronic pain in my back. Samantha was understanding to my needs and we worked out a treatment plan to provide relief. It was a huge amount of help and I am mostly pain free these days.” - Paula B.
